The Blossoming Flower

I blossomed like a baby, my petals opened like eyes.
The sun’s brightness blinded me, and then I saw the skies.
Cloudy grey and periwinkle, with a hint of yellow as well,
The morning was a new dawn for me, I could tell.

The Sun glared at me o’er a lush hill
“Tis the season spring!” I turned still.
A boy came sprinting and fell on the ground.
Then I realized there was a lot of time left for the boy I found.

Day turned into night, the Sun was replaced by the moon.
The Moon was peaceful and calm, an uncelebrated boon.
The stars were guiding lights, they adorned the sky, did they not?
They did not appear large, they were just little dots.

As the time passed, my happiness was no more.
‘Cause I knew one day, I would leave Earth’s door.
I enjoyed being a flower, but now was my old age.
And slowly, I left, the last line of my final page.
